How to read this
- It's an estimate for planning, not a promise. Your market and your search results will differ.
- Local service businesses earn about half of this at the same position: on mobile, position 1 got 3.99% for local service sites and 9.72% for e-commerce and national sites.
- These are non-brand searches. Searches for your own business name get clicked far more often.
- Keyword tools can overstate search volume, so treat the volume you enter as a rough guide too.
Where the numbers come from
90 days of Search Console data from 99 Australian sites, 17 July to 14 October 2026: 13.8 million non-brand impressions in the top 20, Australian searches only. The full method and what was left out are in the study. "Typical site" is the study's typical-site column.
